1. Open a Linux terminal
2. Type cal <Year> (eg :- cal 2012) and press Enter

You will see the calendar of the particular year that you have entered (According to the example you will se the calendar of year 2012).

Also you can get the calendar of a perticular month using linux terminal.

1. Open a Linux terminal
2. Type cal <number of the month> <year> (eg : cal 11 2012 )and press Enter.

You will see the calendar of the particular month that you have entered.( According to my example i will get the calendar of 2012 November.)

In other words, so much for Bing getting the upper hand in the battle for real-time search. Absent from Google’s announcement, however, is Facebook . That said, the vast majority of status updates on Facebook are not public, so how much of an advantage that will be to Bing is dependent largely on how Facebook is able to change user behavior.

For Twitter though, today marks significant validation of its business. Just two weeks ago, it was rumored that the company was working on search deals worth “several millions dollars,” and today, they delivered, by partnering with the two biggest players in the game. With a fresh $100 million in the bank and both Google and Microsoft implementing tweets in search, it looks like Twitter is in it for the long haul.

In this post i will be discussing how to change the php.ini variables through .htaccess file. For example just imagine your going to use some web hosting server to host your web site. There might be some cases that you may need to change some variables in php.ini file. But for example if you might have host your site in godaddy, fatcow ,cpanal ect.So you will not have the permission to access the ini file. So best thing you can do is using a .htaccess file. Through htaccess file you will not have the permission to change each and every variable in php.ini.But you will be able to do things like switching off php warnings, increasing maximum file upload size ect..So lets consider how to change the maximum file upload size through .htaccess file. For that you will have to add below line of code to your htaccess file

php_value upload_max_filesize 1024

(Please note that the value 1024 is in bytes).

Similarly you can change the other values in php.ini file through .htaccess file.. .Enjoy!!

Though php presents a very versatile and user friendly interface for handling file uploads, the default installation is not geared for working with files in excess of 2 Mega Bytes.

So to handle files larger than 2 MB you will have to edit your php.ini file.

In ubuntu you can find your php.ini at /etc/php5/apache2

you will have to edit

• upload_max_filesize

• post_max_size

Files are usually posted to the webserver in a format known as ‘multipart/form-data’. The post_max_size sets the upper limit on the amount of data that a script can accept in this manner. Ideally this value should be larger than the value that you set for upload_max_filesize.

It’s important to realize that upload_max_filesize is the sum of the sizes of all the files that you are uploading. post_max_size is the upload_max_filesize plus the sum of the lengths of all the other fields in the form plus any mime headers that the encoder might include. Since these fields are typically small you can often approximate the upload max size to the post max size. For example if you set your upload_max_filesize to 10M post_max_size should be >10 M (11,12,…).

Once you set these values you will have to restart the apache server by typing sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart.

I just stucked with the same problem but i managed to found the solution. So i thought it will be helpfull to you guyz as well.

RAR is a proprietary file format for data compression and archiving, developed by Eugene Roshal.

rar files can be exratced by using unrar command in ubuntu.But the problem is unrar is not installed in ubuntu by default. So you will have to download it by using apt-get

Open a terminal and type the below command to download unrar

apt-get install unrar

Then you can simply use the unrar command to extract the files..or esle you can just right click on the file and extract it just as a normal zip or tar file.

If you are using terminal type below command to extract the file.For example lests assume the name of the file that you are going to exract is file.rar

Command will be

unrar e file.rar

It is just simple as that..:D..

1. Installing Apache

First open a terminal and execute the below command

sudo apt-get install apache2

After finished installing you can check if the Apache is working properly. Simply type http://localhost in your web browser. If you see the text It works that means apache server has been successfully installed.

2. Installing php5

Open a terminal and execute the following command.

sudo apt-get install php5 libapache2-mod-php5

After finished installing you will have to restart Apache server to ensure that php works properly with Apache with out any errors.

To reatart Apache execute the follwing command in your terminal

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

You can check weather php is working properly by creating a simple php file and putting it to /var/www/ folder. For example create a php file called as test.php and put the following script.

Then put it in to the /var/www/ folder. Then type http://localhost/test.php in your browser. IF php is working properly you will see a lot of information about your php5 installation.

3. Installing Mysql

Open a terminal and execute the following command

sudo apt-get install mysql-server libapache2-mod-auth-mysql php5-mysql

At the end of the installation you will be asked to set the root password. You can give anything you like and select ok (Use tab to select) and press enter.

4. Installing phpMyadimin

Open a terminal and type the command

sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin

So during the installation you will be asked to select the web server that you are using to run phpMyadmin. Select apache2 as the webserver.

After completing the installation you will have to copy the phpmyadmin folder to /var/www/ folder. To do that execute the following command in the terminal.

sudo ln -s /usr/share/phpmyadmin/ /var/www/phpmyadmin

Then you can go to phpmyadmin by typing http://localhost/phpmyadmin in the browser..

Sometimes you will get a phpmyadmin error. If that happens don’t get panic just restart your apache server ( typing sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart in the terminal ). Then again visit the http://localhost/phpmyadmin.

That’s all….now you can start working with php and mysql in ubuntu..
